About Me

Hello! My name is Devina and I am a 24-year-old graduate from the University of Brighton, and I am looking for an opportunity to get started in a creative career specialising in photography, writing, editing, social media, and videography.

I am a passionate feminist, anti-racist, environmentalist, and crocheter. I'm also an INFP :)

My Story

I first picked up a camera when I was about 8. My grandad was a big fan of photography and all the new technology, so naturally, he gave me all his old cameras. He was and still is one of my biggest inspirations.

When I got a DSLR, things changed a bit. Rather than taking pictures on holiday or of some nice trees, I started photographing people. However, it wasn't until sixth form that my passion for this art form really grew.

After leaving A levels with an A in photography, I chose Brighton to be my next adventure, studying English Language and Media. It was an amazing and varied course, with modules such as Digital Storytelling, Photography, Journalism, Gothic Texts and Contexts, History of the English Language, Text and Design, and more. Despite the wide range, in the end, I still stuck with photography, using it as my main medium in my dissertation, in which I got a first. The project was based on portraiture and how the subject views themselves, and it was my favourite piece of work from the whole 3 years.

Since graduating in a pandemic, I have worked as the Assistant Editor for a small online magazine, have managed social media accounts, and started freelancing with graphic design, copywriting, video editing, and photography.

It has been a wonderful journey, however, I would love to put all my skills to good use, and gain experience in the digital creative career space. If you're doing something you love, you'll never have to work a day in your life, right?

If you have any questions or would like to work together, contact me using the form below :)
